Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how Flotix works, what it protects, and what it does not do.
Is Flotix a marketplace? Do you sell my scripts for me?
No. Flotix never sells your scripts and never sits between you and your buyer. You keep selling on BuiltByBit, Gumroad, Discord, or anywhere else you already use. Flotix is the protection layer — keys, game-lock binding, and protected builds — that you add on top of your existing storefront.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 protection?
Level 1 wraps your script with a server-side license check and light static hardening (like comment stripping today). The buyer gets a normal Script file for ServerScriptService. It raises the cost of tampering and leaking, but a skilled attacker can still study the shape of the code — we do not claim it is unbreakable. Level 2 stores your real logic on Flotix's servers and ships buyers a tiny stub that fetches it at runtime. That is stronger against casual theft, but it requires LoadStringEnabled in Studio and creates a live dependency on Flotix's API. Neither level makes theft impossible for a determined buyer with legitimate Studio access.
Can someone still steal my script if they really try?
A buyer with Studio access can always copy text they can see, and a skilled attacker can invest time to reverse or bypass checks. Flotix raises the cost significantly — leaked files do not work outside the bound place, and Level 2 never ships your full source to the buyer — but we are honest that no licensing tool is perfect against a motivated, technical adversary.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your subscription enters a grace period with reminders by email and in your dashboard. Affected buyers may be notified before keys stop validating. If you have buyer keep-alive enabled (on by default), buyers can pay Flotix $2/month per key to keep their specific key alive while your billing is lapsed — your credit as the seller does not change. Keys are not deleted; they go dormant if nobody pays, and can be reactivated later.
Do buyers need a Flotix account?
No. Buyers use the public activation page with their key and email. There is no buyer login or password for activation. A separate buyer keep-alive portal exists later if they choose to pay for continuity themselves — that uses magic-link email, not a traditional account signup.
Is Flotix affiliated with Roblox?
No. Flotix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation. Flotix is independent infrastructure built for script sellers on the Roblox platform.
What platforms do you support?
Roblox only today. The product, docs, and activation flow are built around Roblox places and ServerScriptService. Other platforms are not supported in v1 — the underlying concepts are platform-agnostic under the hood, but we are not claiming FiveM, Minecraft, or anything else works right now.
